Description
Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio has toured London, Fredrikstad (Norway), Bytomskie and Vratislav (Poland), Beijing and Taipei in 2012 with its Cantonese productions of the Titus Andronicus series, which have deeply touched audiences with no understanding of Cantonese or even the Chinese language. Detention, a physical comedy with no spoken dialogues, has also been well-received by audiences of Hong Kong, Edinburgh and five cities in mainland China. Thunderstorm, a dance and physical theatre recently staged in October has been acclaimed as a perfect combination of theatre and dance. Theatre is a place where stories are told, yet there is tremendous power beyond the verbal language. Renowned as the “alchemist of minimalist theatre” on reason of his pursuit of physical theatre and minimalist aesthetics, Tang Shu-wing will share the secret of his alchemy in the theatre with the audience.

The workshop will be conducted in the form of games through which participants will have a taste of the five modes of pre-language expressions: facial expression, physical movements, breathing, voice and spatial movements.
