Grand Celebration of Lingnanian Pop-up Café
The Grand Celebration of Lingnanian Pop-up Café was successfully held on 11 SEP, 2023 (Mon) afternoon. The ceremony started with the Welcoming Remarks given by Prof. S. Joe QIN, President of Lingnan University and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science, and the Welcoming Remarks given by Mr. Paul WONG, JP, District Officer (Sham Shui Po), followed by a ribbon cutting and balloon popping ceremony hosted by our honourable guests including the Member of the Legislative Council (Kowloon West), Mr. Scott Leung, MH, which symbolized our enthusiasm towards sharing Lingnan history with the community.
After the ceremony, the Lingnanians gathered at the Lingnanian Café to try out the hand-made coffee made by the students from Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School, went on a tour of the Lingnan collections and history gallery, and connected with each other, tasting the Lingnan Legacy together. Prof. QIN also greeted the students who joined the event, talked about their expectations on the study lives at Lingnan University and gave the blessings to these new Lingnanians.
