Inauguration Ceremony of the China Economic Research Programme cum Cheque Presentation Ceremony

The Inauguration Ceremony of the China Economic Research Programme cum Cheque Presentation Ceremony were held on 23 April in appreciation of the generosity of the Ho Iu Kwong Charity Foundation in donating HK$8 million to establish the China Economic Research Programme for fostering economic development of Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Officiating guests of the ceremony included Mr Ho Sai-chu, Chairman of the Ho Iu Kwong Charity Foundation, Mr Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen, Council Chairman of Lingnan University and Prof Leonard K Cheng, President of Lingnan University.

The Programme at Lingnan aims to promote studies by Mainland and Hong Kong scholars, researchers and industry members in areas such as economy, industries, finance and entrepreneurship, as well as collaborative academic research and exchange projects. In response to the changes in related policies and economic development of Mainland China and Hong Kong, academic conferences will be organised to enhance the economic development of the two places. The University has appointed Prof Wei Xiangdong, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences as Director of the Programme, while Mr Ho Sai-leung, Director of the Foundation was appointed as Honorary Director to provide valuable guidance for the Programme.
