Lingnan Foundation visits Lingnan University

Dr Ding-Jo Currie, President and Ms Rona Henry, Director of Grants, Programs and Operations of the Lingnan Foundation visited the University on 7-8 June 2018. During the visit, they met with President Leonard K Cheng, Vice-President Mok Ka-ho and representatives from the following units/departments such as the Registry, Office of Global Education, Office of Service-Learning, Student Services Centre, Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs and Department of English to learn about the latest development of the University, the progress of sponsored programmes and the University’s future funding needs.

Apart from the Financial Aid Scheme for the financially needy outgoing exchange students and the Visiting Creative Writer Program which the Foundation has supported for years, the Foundation has newly approved a funding to the proposal to establish a Social Innovation Hub (SIH) via international partnership with the Global Liberal Arts Alliance and Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities.

The SIH, led by the Office of Service-Learning, aims at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in a liberal arts context, and will be the pioneer in Asia in demonstrating the importance of liberal arts education in the innovation economy.
