Naming Ceremony of Chan Wai Nam Function Hall
Lingnan University held a naming ceremony on 25 October 2012 in appreciation of the generous donation from Mr Chan Wai-nam, BBS, Chairman of Ping Shan Enterprise Company Ltd, by which the Dr Ian Chan Yau Nam Hostel Bursaries were set up. Located on the ground floor of Lingnan’s new campus (near Fu Tai Estate), the Chan Wai Nam Function Hall was built to provide more teaching and learning facilities in line with the needs of the University under the new four-year university system.
Officiating guests of the naming ceremony included Mr Chan Wai-nam, BBS, Chairman of Ping Shan Enterprise Company Ltd, Dr Ian Chan Yau-nam, Director and General Manager of Ping Shan Enterprise Company Ltd, the Hon Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBS, JP, Chairman of the University’s Council and President Chan Yuk-Shee.
As a staunch supporter of education, Mr Chan Wai-nam appreciates Lingnan’s liberal arts traditions and thus seeks to support its further promotion. The Dr Ian Chan Yau Nam Hostel Bursaries will provide financial support to students in need so that they can enjoy hostel life on campus.
