The China Economic Research Programme, Lingnan University and Hong Kong Higher Education Convergence Launch "Linking You to Innovation - Entrepreneurial Training and Internship Programme 2025-Shenzhen"

On May 29, 2025, the Kick-off Ceremony for the "Linking You to Innovation - Entrepreneurial Training and Internship Programme 2025-Shenzhen" was successfully held. This initiative is a collaborative effort by the China Economic Research Programme (CERP) and the Office of Student Affairs of Lingnan University, in partnership with the Hong Kong Higher Education Convergence. The programme aims to provide thirty Hong Kong youth with a hands-on, five-week internship experience in Shenzhen from June 13 to July 19, 2025.

During the ceremony, Professor Zhang Tianle, Acting Director of CERP at Lingnan University, highlighted the University's dedication to nurturing talent and contributing to societal development. He encouraged students to seize opportunities for social service, international exchanges, and internships, emphasizing their value in broadening perspectives and enhancing skills.

Ms. Wong Lai Chu Connie, Associate Director of Student Affairs at Lingnan University, shared her hopes that participants would cultivate meaningful relationships with colleagues and employers. She stressed the importance of developing versatile skills to meet the demands of both society and the workplace.

Professor Yau Yat, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Higher Education Convergence, and Ms. Esther Hui, Founding Chairman of the Greater Bay Area Dream Hub for Youth, also delivered inspiring remarks. Both expressed their optimism for the programme's success and its role in fostering innovation and collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.

The ceremony concluded with an insightful lecture by Mr. Chan Chi Bun, an external expert from the Bauhinia Institute. His talk covered critical topics, including "One Country, Two Systems," the Basic Law, and the Hong Kong National Security Law, offering participants a deep understanding of the legal and political frameworks shaping Hong Kong and its relationship with the mainland.

The "Linking You to Innovation - Entrepreneurial Training and Internship Programme 2025-Shenzhen" represents a strategic initiative to equip Hong Kong youth with practical experience and cross-border exposure. By fostering collaboration and innovation, the programme aims to prepare participants for their future roles in a dynamic and interconnected world.
