Professor VOON Jan Piaw Thomas

​Prof Voon Thomas obtained his PhD from LaTrobe University (Australia) in 1991. Prior to joining Lingnan University in 1994, he taught at Griffith University, Deakin University, and the University of Ballarat. He had also worked as a consultant to the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial and Research Organisation (CSIRO), Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA), and Kerry Logistics (Hong Kong). Prof Voon specializes in Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), Public Finance, Agricultural Economics and the Chinese Economy. His publications appear in Asian Survey, Journal of Public Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, Economics of Education review, Journal of Banking and Finance, Economics Letters, Pacific Economic Review, Applied Economics, Journal of Contemporary China, Journal of Asian Economics, Asia Pacific Journal of accounting and Economics, Asian Economic Journal, ASEAN Economic Bulletin, Journal of Agricultural Economics (UK), Agricultural Economics (Europe), Australian Economic papers, Journal of Socio-economics, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Economic Analysis and Policy, International Employment Relations Review, Journal of World Trade, International Food and Agribusiness Management Review, Marine Resource Economics, Journal of Asia-pacific Economy, and others. Prof Voon has also published two books and a number of book chapters and working papers.

 

Courses taught in Lingnan:
Public Expenditure and Cost Benefit Analysis, Public Finance, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Financial Markets and Institution in Hong Kong and China.
