the English department in Lingnan is very special because we have the most dedicated and devoted professors who are always there for their students! Whether you have one question or ten, they are all just one email away!

Rukayya Bibi (Graduated in 2022)

I appreciate that the department offers both literary and linguistics courses to its students. I was not a big fan of literary works before I took some of the literary courses. After taking them, not only did it clear my bias, but I also started to become appreciative of the works.

Without these fruitful experiences of being an English major, I would not have become who I am today. Indeed, I am most grateful for the professional guidance and support from the professors, as well as the lifelong friendships with my former CES classmates.

I am proud that I majored in English in Lingnan University. The English courses were amazing. The professors were always well-prepared for the classes and they made learning interesting and fun.

they helped cultivate my interest in creative writing and prepared me to pursue my dream of becoming a playwright. The professors were very kind, supportive, and influential.
