Inclusion Ambassador Programme 2024-25

🌟Objectives of the Programme

Recruit students as Inclusion Ambassadors to:

1. Promote empathy and understanding for individuals with special needs
2. Raise awareness and sensitivity on campus
3. Create a diversity and inclusivity learning environment

5️⃣Five Components

The Programme contains five components below:

Volunteer Skills Training Workshop

Inclusion Ambassadors will receive compulsory training to gain better learning and be equipped with skills for conducting events. The training will be divided into two parts, held in Term 1 and 2 respectively.

There are four streams of thematic training courses and service projects. Each stream includes a total of three hours training course and an outreach service project. Inclusion Ambassadors are required to participate in these training sessions and participate in an outreach service project to promote inclusion and wellness on campus and serve people with special needs in the community. Training courses will be held in Term 1 and service projects will be conducted in Term 2. They can choose one of the following: 

Training courses: Student TA Training Workshop for Sports Class for Students with Physical Disabilities (「殘疾學生體育訓練」學生助教工作坊)

Service project: Volunteers for the Bowls for the Disabled Invitational Tournament (香港殘疾人草地滾球邀請賽)

Training courses: Audio Description for Sports Events Workshop (體育口述影像工作坊)

Service project: Audio Description for Sports Events Service (體育口述影像服務)

Training courses: Sign Language Experience Workshop (基本手語體驗訓練班)

Service project: Sign language Volunteer Service (手語義工服務)

Training courses: Decoding SENs Communication: Key Strategies for Initiating Effective Communications with SENs (解讀SENs溝通方法：與有特殊學習需要學童溝通的關鍵策略)

Service project: Link Sound Sinfonia (嶺聲共融樂坊)

Contribution to the Annual Equal Opportunities Awareness Campaign

Inclusion Ambassadors are required to assist with the annual Equal Opportunities Awareness Campaign (EO Awareness Campaign), which will be held in February 2025. Inclusion Ambassadors can choose to serve in one of the three designated positions. To prepare for the event, Inclusion Ambassadors should submit detailed proposals and budget plans at least two months prior to the scheduled EO Awareness Campaign. The three designated positions are as follows:

🏆Completion

Inclusion Ambassadors will be awarded a total of 12.0 ILP units^* in Citizen Education and Leadership Development (CELD) for participating in all training and services+, and a certificate recognising their dedication and contributions upon completing the Programme.

*ILP unit application in progress

+Students are required to achieve at least 80% attendance in an ILP activity/programme in order to be qualified for its ILP unit(s).
