2026 Hong Kong Joint Finance Research Workshop

The 12th Hong Kong Joint Finance Research Workshop (The Newcomer Conference) will be hosted by Lingnan University on 28 August 2026 at its West Kowloon Campus at M+. The conference serves as a premier academic forum for the presentation and discussion of emerging research in finance, bringing together scholars from leading universities across Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and the Greater Bay Area. The programme features twelve research papers organized into four thematic sessions covering market information and investor behaviour, machine learning and asset pricing, corporate finance and innovation, and housing and labour market dynamics. Each paper presentation is accompanied by a formal discussion by a designated academic expert, fostering rigorous scholarly exchange and constructive feedback. 

Designed to support the development of early-career researchers while facilitating engagement with established scholars, the conference aims to advance the creation, dissemination, and refinement of high-quality finance research. By providing a platform for intellectual dialogue, critical discussion, and academic networking, the conference promotes collaboration across institutions and contributes to the continued growth and vibrancy of the finance research community in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
