Dear Colleagues and Students,

HSE Committee would like to share the following updated message on free measles vaccination mop-up programme from the Centre of Health Protection with colleagues and students:

Following an upsurge of confirmed measles cases in our community in 2019, the Centre for Health Protection has launched a one-off mop-up programme to provide free measles vaccination to all non-immune Hong Kong resident adults with the aim of boosting the community’s herd immunity against measles, as a public heath strategy to prevent and control measles. This programme will cover all adults who are non-immune to measles, especially those born between the years 1967 and 2002. In particular, the CHP also encourages participation from people who are non-locally born, people of all ethnicities, post-secondary students, FDHs and people who have frequent contact with tourists. These groups can receive free MMR vaccines under this programme if they are non-immune and are Hong Kong residents.

Details of the programme, including the eligibility criteria and appointment booking arrangement, can be referred to the below link. Starting from 2 March 2020, eligible students and staff can now book appointment for free MMR vaccination. The service period will last for around 6 months.
