Report on a Confirmed COVID-19 Case

Dear Colleagues and Students,

 

HSE Committee would like to update colleagues and students on the following:

 

The University was informed of a confirmed case of COVID-19 concerning a student of the Higher Diploma in Airline Service and Management programme at Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE), which was confirmed on 5 December.

 

According to available information, the student last visited LU campus on 30 November 2020. During the stay on campus, the student visited LCH UG07, Learning Resources Centre on 2/F and attended a group presentation at LCH 110. The student wore a mask throughout the stay on campus. The University has identified the students and staff who attended the same class and, according to advice by the Centre for Health Protection, arranged COVID-19 tests for respective personnel. None of the affected students resides in our student hostel.

 

The University has now closed all classrooms and venues concerned as well as arranged thorough disinfection for these places.

 

The University wishes the student a speedy recovery, and will continue to closely monitor the situation as well as take necessary actions to minimise potential health risk within the University community.
