Health Advice on COVID-19 Confirmed Cases

Dear Colleagues and Students,

 

Following the latest development of COVID-19, the HKSAR Government will stop issuing isolation orders to infected persons according to the Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation (Cap. 599A) with effect starting today (30 Jan 2023). All persons testing positive (including by nucleic acid and RATs) are not required to report via the online platforms of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH).


Students and colleagues who test positive are advised to take the following actions to prevent respiratory diseases including:

  • observe personal hygiene;
  • wear well-fitting masks (surgical, KF94, or KN95) or respirators (such as N95 masks) during the first five days after testing positive, and reduce mask-off contact with household members;
  • open windows to ensure adequate ventilation indoors, as well as clean and disinfect household environment daily;
  • observe your health condition and seek medical attention if symptoms develop or worsen;
  • symptomatic persons should stay at home for rest, while asymptomatic persons can go out, including for work;
  • avoid contact with high-risk individuals and sharing a table during meals;
  • do not go to crowded places or attend mass gatherings.
