Updated Information on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Vaccines

Dear Colleagues and Students,

 

Following the latest development of COVID-19, the Government announced several updates on COVID-19 and vaccines as below.

 

  1. Mask-wearing Requirement Lifted
    Starting from 1 March, people are no longer required to wear masks, either indoors, outdoors, or on public transportation.
     
  2. Adjustment of Nucleic Acid Testing Service
    Starting from 1 March, free nucleic acid testing service will no longer be provided at the community testing network, and the operation of nucleic acid testing will be scaled down.

  3. Latest COVID-19 Vaccination Programme
    Public and private medical facilities will become the prime vaccination venues under the new mode of operation.

  4. Download Local COVID-19 Records Compatible with EU Digital COVID Certificate Mechanism
    Starting from 7 March, people can download local vaccination, testing or recovery records compatible with the European Union Digital COVID Certificate (EU DCC) mechanism for outbound travel purposes via the COVID-19 Electronic Vaccination and Testing Record System (eVT) or the "iAM Smart" mobile application. People should check the latest immigration requirements of their destinations, including those for vaccination or testing, before departure.

While Hong Kong has returned to normalcy, students and colleagues are advised to maintain personal and environmental hygiene for personal protection against infection. Should you feel sick or stay in high-risk areas, please wear mask to reduce the chance of spreading or catching a respiratory virus.
