Professor Padmore Adusei AMOAH

Prof Amoah's policy research and interests focus on the social determinants of health and well-being among young and older people. He approaches this from social policy, sociology, and public health perspectives. He studies specific topics such as social capital, digital health, health literacy, and the health dimensions of social protection using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods designs. He was ranked among the top 0.5% of researchers worldwide and 53rd globally, 12th in Greater China (Mainland China, Macau, Taiwan and Hong Kong), and 2nd in Hong Kong in social support research by ScholarGPS 2024. He serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Asian Public Policy and BMC Geriatrics. He has been involved in several policy-related research projects involving young and older adults, all of which have had positive social impacts. His research on age-friendly cities has led to a knowledge- transfer project through workshops and symposiums in Indonesia and several cities in the Hong Kong-Guandong-Macao Greater Bay (GBA).
