The Mil Mill tour is organized by CCGEO and Science Unit. It includes a guided visit to Mil Mill and a papermaking workshop at its Education Centre. Prof. Paulina Wong from the Science Unit will join the visit and share on sustainability.
The tour aims to provide participants with the in-person experience of beverage cartons recycling and papermaking. It will broaden participants’ horizons on Hong Kong’s recycling industry, raise their environmental awareness, and encourage them to cultivate environmentally friendly habits (especially recycling beverage cartons).
Mil Mill is the first pulp mill and education center that recycle beverage cartons in Hong Kong. They are able to process maximum 50 tonnes of beverage cartons daily, and convert them into paper pulp. They also recycle different kinds of paper, esp. composite-paper-products into paper pulp as well.
