eBSCM Programme Kicks Off New Semester with Programme Briefing

Hong Kong, January 15, 2025 — The Master of Science in E-Businesses and Supply Chain Management (eBSCM) Programme successfully held its Programme Briefing for the new semester on January 15, 2025. The briefing was led by the eBSCM Programme Director, Prof. YAN, and was well-attended by the programme's students.

The briefing covered a wide range of important topics to ensure students are well-prepared for the upcoming semester. The key points discussed included:

  1. Important Dates in Term 2:
    Prof. YAN provided detailed information on key dates for the second term, including the start and end of classes, final exam dates, and the schedule for the Chinese New Year break, helping students to plan their schedules effectively.
  2. Academic Advisors:
    Students were informed that each of them would be assigned an academic advisor. These advisors will offer support and guidance on both academic and non-academic matters, as well as career development.
  3. Guidelines for Using GAI Tools:
    Prof. YAN explained the guidelines for using GAI tools, emphasizing the importance of declaring their use in assignments and assessments, and following the provided templates for reporting.
  4. Reminder About Internet Usage:
    Students were reminded to be responsible and law-abiding internet users and to avoid engaging in activities that could potentially breach legal regulations.
  5. Graduation Requirements and Course Grading:
    Detailed information was provided on graduation requirements, including the completion of 10 courses (30 credits) and achieving a cumulative GPA of 2.67 or above. Prof. YAN also explained the course grading standards and graduation classifications.
  6. Graduation Date and Job Hunting Advice & Policy on Working in Hong Kong:
    Prof. YAN offered advice on graduation dates and job hunting, explaining the policy allowing non-local full-time postgraduate students to work part-time during their studies, effective from November 1, 2023. He encouraged students to balance work and study to ensure academic progress is not compromised.
  7. Upcoming Events and Competitions:
    Information on upcoming events, including Career Week activities and a guest seminar, was shared. Prof. YAN encouraged students to participate actively. Additionally, the winners of the 2024 CIPS Best Student Awards were announced, and awards were presented to the deserving students.
