My research centers around the role that social practices, both actual and hypothetical, play in determining what we are morally required to do. “Maxim and Principle Contractualism” (Journal of Ethics & Social Philosophy, forthcoming) and “Contractualism and the Question of Direction” (European Journal of Philosophy, 2022) concern the role that hypothetical social practices play in determining what we’re required to do. And “Conventionalism about Property and the Outsider Challenge” (Journal of Moral Philosophy, forthcoming) concerns the role that actual social practices play in determining what we’re required to do.
