Two Distinguished Scholars join LUIAS

Lingnan University Institute for Advanced Study (LUIAS) is pleased to announce the appointments of Prof Arnold B. Bakker as Lingnan Fellow and Prof Jay H. Lee as Senior Lingnan Scholar, starting from August 2025.

Prof Arnold B. Bakker is a distinguished organisational psychologist and is currently a Professor of Work and Organisational Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Since 2013, he has been recognised in Thomson Reuters' "Most Influential Scientific Minds" list and is the most-cited psychologist in the Netherlands. He has served as the president of the European Association of Work and Organisational Psychology and has been selected as a Fellow of the American Psychological Society, the International Association of Applied Psychology, and the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology in recognition of his significant contributions to the field.

Prof Jay H. Lee currently serves as the Choong Hoon Cho Chair and Professor of Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at University of Southern California (USC). He is an expert in the design and operation of energy and chemical systems, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Prof Lee has been recognised by several prestigious academies, including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). His accolades include the NSF Young Investigator Award, AIChE’s Computing in Chemical Engineering Award, and Roger Sargent’s Lectureship.

The wealth of experience and groundbreaking research contributions from Prof Bakker and Prof Lee are set to greatly enrich the academic and research environment at LUIAS.
