Curriculum (AY2026/27 Intake)
The total credit requirement for the MScIDA programme is 30 credits, consisting of five required courses and five elective courses. These courses can have different combinations of lectures, laboratory sessions, tutorials, and/or seminars. Although the normal duration for the MScIDA programme is one year of full-time study, students may extend this up to a maximum duration of three years, subject to the approval of the Programme Director and the Person-in-Charge of the Division.

Applicants with no or limited background in computer science or statistics will be required to complete non-credit-bearing pre-entry course(s):

Student Progression
Students are required to achieve a Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.50 or above in order to proceed to the next term. Students who cannot meet such requirement will normally be put on academic probation in the following term or discontinued.
Graduation
For graduation, students are required to complete a total of 10 courses of 30 credits, as specified in the programme curriculum, including five required courses and five elective courses. The minimum CGPA requirement for graduation will be 2.67 for conferment of the MScIDA programme. Students will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma if they cannot meet the requirement(s) for graduation with a M.Sc. degree. Specifically, to qualify for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Data Analytics issued by Lingnan University, students must complete any 4 required courses with a cumulative GPA that is equal to or greater than 2.33.
