November 15, 2023: Organized by the Lingnan University STEAM Education and Research Center, in collaboration with Fu Tai Elderly Home and the Hong Kong Old Age Nursing Association Limited, the “STEAM 'Smart Elderly' Activity at Elderly Home (cum staff training) ” was successfully held on November 15, 2023.

Staff members from the Lingnan University STEAM Education and Research Center visited Fu Tai Elderly Home on that day, delivering a lively and engaging session to the elderly students.

The class introduced ancient Chinese art and craftsmanship, exploring the most primitive aspects of technology and art to the elderly. The staff explained to the elderly students about Neolithic pottery, the Sanxingdui culture, and bronze artifacts, allowing the participants to experience firsthand the progress of technology from ancient times to the present.

In addition to the lectures, the class also included various activities, such as sorting ancient artifacts by chronological order and engaging in discussions. The elderly participants actively participated in the class, showing enthusiastic responses.

These courses not only help the elderly connect better with modern technology and participate in the technological discourse of today's society but also enable them to approach everyday problem-solving with more creativity. The Lingnan University STEAM Education and Research Center will continue to collaborate closely with Fu Tai Elderly Home and the Hong Kong Old Age Nursing Association Limited, bringing more inspiring classes to the elderly.
