Vice-President of Lingnan University, Professor Joshua Mok, participates in CACIE 2023 and Tsinghua Higher Education Forum from 27 to 29 October 2023

Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University, was invited to participate in the China Annual Conference and EXPO for International Education (CACIE) 2023, held in Beijing on 27 October 2023.  Professor Mok served as a keynote speaker for the segment titled 'Quality Assurance of Sino-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools'. The main theme was "New Opportunities, New Challenges, New Path".  

 

Professor Mok’s presentation focused on "Why is the transnationalization of higher education in China and Asia important?"  Drawing on his research achievements, Professor Mok shared experiences from countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam in cross-border education. He compared these experiences with the results of research on Sino-foreign cooperative education in our country.  Professor Mok is advocating for universities to implement comprehensive, multi-dimensional quality assurance work to enhance the quality of education. He believes this approach will promote the long-term development of cooperative education and contribute to the integration of Hong Kong and Macau into the overall national development.

Additionally, Professor Mok met with Mr An Yan, the Secretary-General of the China Education International Exchange Association, to discuss cooperation and the promotion of international education research, a notable strength of Lingnan University.

On 28 and 29 October 2023, Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho was invited by Tsinghua University to participate in the 2023 Tsinghua Higher Education Forum. The theme of the Forum was “Higher Education for Sustainable Development: Global Perspectives and Practices”. Many experts and scholars from global educational institutions, including the Institute of Education at Tsinghua University, the Graduate School of Education at Peking University, the Centre for Global Higher Education at Oxford University, the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong, and the School of Education at Tianjin University, and other global educational institutions, participated in the forum.

Professor Joshua Mok Ka-ho was invited to serve as an advisor for the Institute of Education at Tsinghua University and had participated at the Advisory Committee for the Institute of Education at Tsinghua University.
