Ms. Angel Fan has been a dedicated educator since 2007. Before joining CEAL at Lingnan University, where she currently teaches EAP courses and coordinates two elective LUE courses, Ms. Fan worked at the Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). At CUHK, she engaged in various research projects at institutional level and teacher training programs, notably serving as a teacher mentor for the Beijing International Program for Teacher Development (2019–2020). Her extensive tertiary experience also includes six years (2014–2019) as a part-time instructor teaching a distance undergraduate course on linguistics, and serving as a part-time Teaching Practice Supervisor and Instructor for CUHK's Faculty of Education in 2017, where she taught an elective on Enrichment Activities for ELT and supervised teaching practicums.
In 2023, Angel achieved the status of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA, now Advance HE). She is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Bristol. Her research is forward-looking and dynamic; in addition to focusing on the efficacy and impact of the internationalization of the curriculum and internationalization at home, she has a keen research interest in exploring blended learning, innovative pedagogies, and AI-mediated language teaching and learning. A highly recognized educator, Angel received the Certificate of Merit in the Teaching Excellence Awards Scheme in 2024 and was honored with the award for a second time in the 2025–26 academic year. She also holds an exceptional IELTS (Academic) overall band score of 8.5, with a 9.0 in the speaking component.
