Delegates led by Professor WEI Xiangdong, President’s Special Advisor on Mainland Initiatives, Professor at the Department of Economics and Director of the China Economic Research Programme and Dr. CHOW Man-kong, Associate Director of the China Economic Research Programme, Lingnan University were invited to attend a meeting with the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on 28 October 2020. The meeting covered key issues of the latest research report on “the Operation and Contributions of Hong Kong-Invested Manufacturing Industry in Greater Bay Area, and the Development Strategies of Transformation and Upgrading”. During the meeting, both parties had an extensive and in-depth exchange of views on the current difficulties encountered by Hong Kong businessmen and enterprises in Mainland China and contemplated some feasible policy recommendations.
