Accreditation
Lingnan’s BBA (Hons) Accounting and Corporate Governance Major enables students to obtain advanced standing or exemptions with the following professional accounting associations:
HKICPA
The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) is the only statutory licensing body of accountants in Hong Kong, and is responsible for regulation of the accountancy profession. The QP of the HKICPA is a comprehensive training programme that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
The BBA (Hons) major in Accounting and Corporate Governance is accredited by the HKICPA as a Category 1 programme. To obtain exemption from QP Modules 1 to 10, students enrolled in the BBA ACG programme must pass the required subjects as specified in the approved curriculum. Once exempted, they are eligible to enrol in the Professional Level of the QP upon completion of their degree study. In addition, graduates of the above BBA Programme who have completed the QP are exempted from the Practising Certificate (PC) - Law Examination when they apply for issuance of the PC if they have studied and passed the law subjects in the BBA ACG Programme.

ACCA
ACCA is an international accountancy body based in the United Kingdom. Its aim is to be a global leader in the profession by offering the qualification to people who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management. Students passing certain courses within our Accounting and Corporate Governance Major are entitled to corresponding exemptions from respective ACCA examination papers.

HKCGI
The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) provides a professional qualification for people who have roles as company secretaries, governance advisers, non-executive directors, risk managers, compliance managers, and more. It stands at the forefront of global developments and best practice in governance.
The Institute’s qualifying programme, the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (CGQP), is an internationally recognised qualification programme with a curriculum adapted to meet local needs and applications. The CGQP is designed to meet the governance needs of today’s organisations, and it equips company secretaries and governance professionals with the knowledge and skills to support the board and senior management in corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Accounting and CG major students may be exempted from three modules of the CGQP.

CIMA Hong Kong
CIMA is the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, and offers a prestigious accounting qualification for a career in business.
Accounting and CG major students can enter CIMA’s Finance Leadership Programme (FLP) from their Year 2 at the “Management Level”.

CPA Australia
CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies representing more than 168,000 members globally. The CPA designation is internationally recognised with CPAs in 100 countries and regions.
Graduates from the Professional Accounting concentration of the Accounting major are exempted from all 6 Foundation Level exams and will be eligible to apply for the CPA Australia Associate membership and start the CPA Program.

Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK)
The TIHK is incorporated as a company with the major objectives of promoting the study of taxation, providing a venue for the exchange of taxation knowledge, and enhancing the standard of tax professionals. At present the Institute has more than 3,000 members.
Accounting and CG major students may be exempted from three papers of the Certified Tax Advisor (CTA) Qualifying Examinations.
