Gary has taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and a range of other communication courses at the tertiary level for over a decade.

Originally from the UK, Gary holds a BA in Psychology and International Relations from the University of Westminster, and an MA in English Language Teaching from the University of Warwick.

Since graduating, Gary has worked at universities in mainland China – in Shanghai and Suzhou – as well as in the UK. In Hong Kong, he spent two years working at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), followed by four years at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where he held a number of leadership roles.

Gary is currently studying part-time for an EdD at the University of Bath. His research interests include discourse analysis, technology enhanced language learning, AI literacy in higher education, EAP, and ESP.
