Haidee has been passionate about languages since her studies at HKU, where she earned her BA and MA degrees in Translation and Linguistics. To better assist ESL learners, she went on to complete TESOL and IELTS teacher certifications with Trinity College London and IDP Australia. She spends her leisure time learning additional languages, including German, which provides her with firsthand insights into the challenges of language acquisition and informs her teaching. Her interest in the practical applications of language motivated her to pursue a second master’s degree at King’s College London, specialising in marketing communications.

Prior to joining CEAL, Haidee taught Translation Studies at HKU. She developed and coordinated a Comparative Linguistics course and instructed Linguistics, English for Academic Purposes, and General English at sub-degree levels. At CEAL, she primarily teaches University English I and II and serves as the Associate Coordinator of University English I. Her current research interests are interdisciplinary, encompassing cognitive linguistics, discourse studies, and the psychology of communication.
