早期华文报纸电影史料库
This database provides an index to film-related materials in early Chinese newspapers from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Tianjin. It is one of the major outcomes of a GRF research project entitled "Chinese Film Industry Beyond Shanghai, 1900-1950" (HKBU 245310).
Background
In 2010, Prof. Emilie Yueh-yu Yeh led a research team of scholars and students from Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shenzhen University and University of Illinois to launch a survey of China's regional film industry between 1900 and 1950, a project funded by the General Research Fund (GRF), Hong Kong Research Council (RGC). As the birthplace of cinema in China, Shanghai was the centre where most historical documents have been collected, studied and written about. Yet as the field grows there is a need to look beyond Shanghai in order to come to a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the film industry as a whole, before it was nationalized under the People's Republic of China in 1950.
Data
In addressing this question, the research team collected and analyzed film advertisements, news items and articles from early Chinese newspapers in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Tianjin which represent four major regions, including the Chinese diaspora, Southern China, Eastern China and Northern China. For three years, the research team read through eight Chinese newspapers from late Qing to the Republican era in the four cities and collected over twenty thousand film advertisements, news items and articles.
Database
The research team categorized and summarized the collected data, and by the end of 2014 built this online database in collaboration with the Hong Kong Baptist University Library. Film-related materials in early Chinese newspapers are massive in quantity, historically significant and challenging to be located. This database made available a keyword index which allows easy data search that go beyond geographical limitations, and will serve as an essential reference for future research on China regional film history.

台湾电影史研究史料资料库
「台湾电影史研究史料资料库」是国立台北艺术大学电影创作学系与香港浸会大学电影学院合作搜集及建置1949年以前台湾电影史研究史料资料库的计画。计画主持人为台北艺术大学电影创作学系教授兼系主任李道明，共同主持人为香港浸会大学电影学院总监叶月瑜教授
本计画旨在填补国内缺乏可供线上检索的台湾电影历史研究第一手史料的空隙，因此透过教育部的补助，由台北艺术大学与香港浸会大学合作建置国内一个关于台湾电影史研究史料之资料库，以提供相关领域学者与研究生在研究台湾电影史时，有一个丰富的第一手文献史料的资料来源可参考使用。
计画内容
由于广义的台湾电影史涵盖日本殖民统治时期（日殖时期1895-1945）与中华民国政府（国府）统治时期（中华民国大陆时期1911-1949与战后国府统治时期1945至今），时间与地域广裘，因此本资料库建置第一年先聚焦于搜集及建置台湾、香港1949年（含）以前主要报纸中关于台湾、香港、日本与中国电影之研究史料（含1945年以前日殖时期的台湾、二战胜利后国府接收台湾至1949年退守台湾、1941年日据时期与战后至1949年大陆赤化前的香港）。
第一年资料库建立雏形后，陆续将再进一步补齐前期无法搜集完整之1949年以前台湾、中国大陆与香港之电影史料，及扩大搜集台湾、香港1950年（含）以后之报纸、期刊中关于台湾电影之研究史料。其中，将把期刊、政府文书与出版品、民间出版图书资料等研究史料纳入资料库，使其逐步成为更有参考价值之台湾电影史研究史料资料库。
本计画第一年工作是以主持人李道明教授过去20年来已着手进行前期研究所搜集之《台湾日日新报》电影相关文献为基础进行资料整理与建档，再进一步由主持人与台湾研究助理就另一日殖时期重要报纸《台南新报》之电影相关文献资料进行搜集、研读、整理与建档。在与香港浸会大学合作的部分，则由该校电影学院叶月瑜教授率领助理负责搜集香港于1941至1945年及1941年以前主要华人报纸《南华日报》、《华侨日报》、《华商报》、《大众周报》与日人控制报纸《香港日报》（含中、日、英文版）与《香岛日报》、《香岛月报》中关于台湾、日本、中国与香港本地电影之文献史料，交由台北艺术大学电影创作学系研究团队研读、整理与建档。
在资料着录的部分，本计画着重在建置电影相关史料之新闻内容类型（含台湾/日本/中国/香港之电影史或电影产业、电影政策、电影讯息、电影动态、电影广告等）、主题（政府政治、国防外交、社福医疗、文化艺术、经济建设、科技资讯、教育体育、生态环保、风景旅游、生活娱乐等）、关键词、主要人物、影片、事件之时间与地点、新闻报导全文或摘要…等，以供使用者全报浏览、全文检索或进阶检索。
至2015年7月底本计画第一年结束时，已建置4,000多则资料，其中《台湾日日新报》已完成1987至1924年共892则、《台南新报》已完成1921年5月至1924年12月共1172则、《香港日报》已完成1942年1月至1945年8月共1760则、香港《南华日报》完成1937年1至3月共148则、香港《华字日报》完成1924年3月至1940年4月共49则。
其他未完成资料着录的《台湾日日新报》、《台南新报》、与香港主要报纸，将列入第二年计画继续进行。
