Professor Prof HUANG Genghua

Prof Huang Genghua is a social policy scholar whose work focuses on the political economy of digital welfare. His research examines how digital technologies reshape the governance of social policy and how they affect older adults in care services, situated particularly within the context of China and the developing world. His research projects, funded by the Research Grants Council (RGC), investigate the logic behind China’s adoption of data-driven means-testing systems in social assistance, social protection for digital platform workers, and the impact of industrial automation on social insurance.
