Hazardous Waste Management

Lingnan University is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all campus users, hazardous waste including chemical waste, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), fluorescent lamps/tubes, and rechargeable batteries are required to handle with care in a safe manner. Lingnan provides collection points for campus users to dispose of their hazardous waste and deliver to licensed recycling facilities for proper treatment and recycling, turning waste into resources. All disposal procedures are in accordance with following regulations, including but not limited to:
 

  • Dangerous Goods Ordinance (Cap. 295)
  • Waste Disposal (Chemical Waste) (General) Regulation (Cap. 354G)
  • Water Pollution Control Ordinance (Cap. 358)
  • Hazardous Chemicals Control Ordinance (Cap.595)
  • Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance (Cap. 603)
  • Product Eco-responsibility (Regulated Electrical Equipment) Regulation (Cap. 603B)
