This invention presents a mobile, intelligent, and universally compatible wireless charging system for electric vehicles (EVs). It is designed to overcome key limitations of conventional fixed charging stations -- namely their large physical footprint, limited compatibility with different vehicle models, high installation costs, and tendency to create spikes in electricity demand. The system comprises four core components: a low-profile autonomous robot (designed to fit beneath most EVs), a wireless power transmitter mounted on the robot, a portable external receiver adapter for vehicles not originally equipped for wireless charging, and a centralized intelligent dispatch platform.
The robot can navigate autonomously within semi-enclosed spaces like parking garages, locate a waiting EV, and precisely align its transmitter with the vehicle’s receiver using an adjustable lifting mechanism. EVs with built-in wireless charging capability can receive power directly. For all other EVs, users simply attach the provided external adapter and plug into the vehicle’s standard charging port -- enabling broad compatibility without permanent modifications.
A cloud- or locally based dispatch system coordinates multiple robots in real time, assigning charging tasks based on user reservations, battery levels, and grid conditions. This dynamic scheduling helps distribute electricity demand more evenly, reducing peak loads and supporting grid stability. Importantly, the system requires no major construction or ground alterations, allowing rapid, cost-effective deployment in existing facilities. Integrated safety features -- including obstacle detection, automatic operation, and remote monitoring -- ensure reliable and secure service.
