LEAP Activity: Academic Writing Workshop – Elevating Taught Postgraduate Excellence (只提供英文版本)

In September and October 2025, the LEAP Programme under the School of Graduate Studies (GS) of Lingnan University successfully organised three dynamic Academic Writing Workshops sessions, engaging hundreds of postgraduate students.  

Under the expert guidance of Ms Sandra Hong, an experienced language instructor, the workshops covered a comprehensive range of topics, including diverse academic writing formats, effective research and source evaluation, understanding plagiarism, and the use of generative AI tools. Students also honed their abilities in essay structure, rhetoric, and paraphrasing, gaining practical tools to craft compelling and polished academic work. Delivered in a dynamic hybrid format, Ms Hong’s engaging Zoom lectures and interactive Q&A sessions inspired students to approach their writing with confidence and clarity. The enthusiastic participation underscored the workshops’ value in addressing the unique challenges faced by students.
