The Department of Accountancy is dedicated to educating professional accountants and corporate governance professionals with all-rounded training complemented by the distinctive liberal arts environment of Lingnan University. Building on the broad-based education at the University, students entering the Major in Accounting and Corporate Governance will go through a focused training programme in accountancy/corporate governance. The curriculum is designed to prepare the students to acquire the core knowledge needed to pursue internationally recognized professional designations such as HKICPA, ACCA and HKCGI. Through our distinctive education process, we aim to develop professionals who possess the analytic, communication (in both Chinese and English) and judgment skills required for a career in practice, industry, government and elsewhere.

 

The Major in Accounting and Corporate Governance within the BBA (Hons) Programme reflects the needs of the market place for accounting and governance knowledge. As Hong Kong grows as the international finance centre of Asia, the demand for professionals with sophisticated accounting and governance knowledge and all-rounded training has been accelerating. Graduates from the Major in Accounting and Corporate Governance are equipped with both theoretical and practical knowledge to deal with existing and new challenges  in an increasingly complex business environment.
