Scholarships

1. Admission Scholarships
Maximum 3 full scholarships (including the full tuition fee of HK$150,000 for local students and HK$270,000 for non-local students, plus a stipend of HK$80,000) will be offered each year for the best candidates. Moreover, a number of scholarships will be offered (amount up to HK$270,000) each year for excellent candidates. All students admitted to the programme will be automatically qualified for the award of scholarships. Recipients of full scholarship will not be eligible for other scholarships.

2. Academic Scholarships
Moreover, a number of performance scholarships will be offered after Term 2 to students with outstanding academic performance. 

3. Wu Ho Loo Ning Scholarship
Wu Yee Sun Charitable Foundation Limited donated an endowment fund of HK$1,000,000 to award annual scholarship(s) of HK$20,000 each to a postgraduate student in the field of international banking and finance in each year.

4. Anthony Neoh Scholarship
With the generous donation of Mr. Anthony Neoh (the Donor) in 2010/11 to Lingnan University (the University), the “Anthony Neoh Scholarship” was established. Mr. Neoh continued his support to the Scholarship by making a donation of HK$20,000 every year to one awardee.

5. MIBF Money Memorial Scholarship
With the generous donation from Prof. Stan Ho (the Donor) to Lingnan University (the University), the “MIBF Money Memorial Scholarship” (the Scholarship) will be established in 2020/21. The Scholarship will be awarded to two students in each academic year, each value at HK$10,000. Awardee should achieve outstanding academic performance in studying MIBF Core Courses and the elective course, IBF614 Fixed-Income Securities.

6. Foster Yim Scholarship
With the generous donation from alumnus and Barrister-in-law Mr. Foster Yim (the Donor) to Lingnan University (the University), the “Foster Yim Scholarship” (the Scholarship) will be established in 2023/24. The Scholarship will be awarded to one student in each academic year, each value at HK$6,000. Awardee should achieve a latest Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above and actively participated in class, university and /or professional activities during his/her MIBF study period. Submission of proof/record of participation is part of the application process.

7. Simon Chung Scholarship
With the generous donation from Mr. Simon Chung (the Donor) to Lingnan University (the University), the “Simon Chung Scholarship” (the Scholarship) will be established in 2025. The Scholarship will be awarded to one student in each academic year, each value at HK$15,000. Awardee should achieve a latest Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or above and have achieved a Grade A (or A- if no one achieved in an A Grade) in the course of Management of Banks and Financial Institutions (IBF611).

Financial Assistance

1. Government Student Financial Assistance 

Local students are eligible for applying the Non-means Tested Loan Scheme. The scheme offers loans up to the maximum amount of tuition fees. Students are expected to repay the loans at a full-cost recovery interest rate within a specified period after graduation or upon leaving the University.

2. Continuing Education Fund

The Programme is also eligible for the support of the Continuing Education Fund for local students. Eligible applicants will be reimbursed 80% of their fees, subject to a maximum sum of HK$10,000, on successful completion of the programme.
