Support for Open Access
The Library has been actively supporting Open Access (OA) publishing at Lingnan since 2022. As of 31 August 2024, our OA Publishing Support @ Lingnan has supported a total of 59 articles published as OA, either by direct transformation via OA Publishing Agreements signed with publishers or by receiving Article Processing Charge (APC) subsidy via OA Publishing Support Fund.
OA Publishing Support @ Lingnan will continue to serve the Lingnan research community via the following ways whenever resources permit:
Open Access Publishing Agreements
5 Active OA Publishing Agreements currently in place with the following publishers, allowing Lingnan authors to publish an agreed number of OA articles in their academic journals at no additional cost upon fulfilling specific conditions:
- American Chemical Society (ACS) (until quota permits)
- Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)
- Cambridge University Press
- Springer Nature (until quota permits)
- Wiley (until quota permits)
Lingnan Open Access Publishing Support Fund
The University has established the OA Publishing Support Fund to help offsetting part of the cost of APC for Lingnan authors interested in publishing their research outputs in open-access journals. It works on a reimbursement mechanism to fund 50% of the cost of APC or up to a maximum of 1,500 USD per article, whichever is lower upon compliance with all funding eligibility criteria.
Self-Archiving via Lingnan Scholars
Lingnan authors can take the Green OA route to Self-Archive your Preprint / Accepted Author Manuscripts in Lingnan Scholars to enable your research outputs to be more widely and openly accessible.
