CIO & University Librarian Participation in the Postgraduate Orientation Campus Carnival 2025
As we begin this exciting new term, we extend a warm welcome to all our new and returning students, faculty, and staff. I met a lot of new postgraduates at the Library booth of the Postgraduate Orientation Campus Carnival. Whether you are joining us for the first time or continuing your journey at Lingnan, the Library is here to support your academic, research, and personal growth.
The Library was kept busy with lots of space improvement works such as exploring the innovative use of IoT for building new interactive floor plans, enhancing the signage for better navigation within the library, renovating the toilets on 1/F and adding new facilities.

At the same time, the Library has hosted two Fudan interns as part of our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with Fudan University Library in March 2025, signifying our long-term collaboration. Two bright and cheerful students, came in June for a month to learn about the operations of our Library and help process our special collections. Through formal and informal programs and activities, we shared and exchanged a lot of common practices and had a good time with them. This placement arrangement is part of our commitment to nurturing the next generation of library professionals, ensuring the continuation of the library profession in providing excellent services.
Library Counter with New Directory Signage
We continue to support our researchers. Our colleagues were busy preparing for the upcoming Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2026. More Research Impact Dashboards were prepared to highlight the excellent research achievements of our academics. More diverse collections were acquired. Different cultural events and exhibitions were organised as part of the university’s whole-person education. The Library was kept lively and vibrant.
