Prof. Yu Wang is an assistant professor in the Division of Industrial Data Science at Lingnan University’s School of Data Science. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland. Before that, she received another Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Tianjin University.

Her research focuses on leveraging AI-driven innovations—especially large language models—to develop new project management perspectives and decision-support tools. She is also interested in how governance structures influence project performance and in applying natural language processing and other data science technologies to investigate managerial problems and social events.

Her scholarly work appears in prestigious journals including IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Project Management, Project Management Journal, Journal of Management in Engineering, Journal of Air Transport Management, and Scandinavian Journal of Management, as well as conference proceedings such as Transportation Research Record and the Proceedings of ASCE Construction Research Congress. Her contributions to the project management field have been recognized with the 2024 Project Management Institute (PMI) Donald S. Barrie Award.
