Faculty and students from Lingnan University’s Faculty of Business participated in the 2026 Ministry of Education Exchange Programme for Tertiary Education between Mainland China and Hong Kong-Macau and the Elite Training Camp on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, held from 17 to 22 July. The training camp was jointly organised by the Greater Bay Area International Institute for Innovation, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Centre, the Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs of Shenzhen University and the College of Management, Shenzhen University.
Designed for university students from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau, the training camp focused on enhancing scientific and technological innovation literacy, strengthening entrepreneurial competencies, and expanding innovative thinking. The event was attended by over 50 students and teachers from Lingnan University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, Macao University of Tourism and Shenzhen University.
Centred on the theme "Innovation and Entrepreneurship," this year's training camp featured a comprehensive programme that included participation in the "2026 Innovation Exchange on Health Technology for an AI-Empowered Future", guided tours to the Han's Laser Global Intelligent Manufacturing Centre and to Fengkai County in Zhaoqing, as well as project roadshow competitions. The activities deepened exchange and collaboration among faculty and students from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao and fostered mutual learning and joint development among the youth across the regions.

A new highlight to this year’s programme was the visit to Fengkai County in Zhaoqing, where participants joined the "'Hundred-Thousand-Ten-Thousand Project' Social Survey and Field Investigations (Zhaoqing)" and the "Greater Bay Area Youth: Discovering the Heritage of Fengkai" initiative, organized by Shenzhen University. The visit featured sharing sessions, field research at community cultural markets and youth entrepreneurship infrastructures, and guided tours of local landmarks such as the Fengkai County Museum, Xicun Zhuangyuan Shrine, Huangyan Cave Exhibition Hall, Kaiming Village, and Wanggao Village. These activities promoted exchange and collaboration among youth from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, while actively supporting the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten-Thousand Project" to empower county-level innovation, entrepreneurship, and rural revitalization.
To align with the AI era and equip students with insights into the digital transformation of the healthcare insurance sector, the organizers hosted the "2026 Innovation Exchange on Health Technology for an AI-Empowered Future" and invited medical experts and researchers from Hong Kong and Shenzhen to share their insights on topics including healthcare insurance management under Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration, development of smart digital platforms, and monitoring and early warning systems for major infectious diseases. Sequent project roadshows and review sessions explored practical applications such as multi-model fusion in AI, refined governance of healthcare funds, compliance monitoring for high-value medical consumables, "one disease, one profile" mapping, collaborative management of multiple diseases, and at-home testing microchips. Through these real-world case studies, students gained a profound understanding of AI application strategies and technical knowledge, laying a solid foundation for future research and innovation.
Guided by industry mentors, students in the project roadshow competitions leveraged on highly realistic entrepreneurial scenarios to develop strategies to address start-up challenges and mastered key operational best practices. The hands-on experience, reinforced by peer exchange and feedback, built a robust foundation for participants’ future endeavours.
