Faculty of Business Delegation Led by Dean Leng Mingming Visits Xi’an, Chengdu, and Shanghai, Strengthening Collaboration with Mainland Universities and Institutions
To deepen collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland China, Professor Leng Mingming, Dean of Faculty of Business at Lingnan University, led delegation on a visit to Xi’an, Chengdu and Shanghai from February 26 to March 8, 2025. During these visits, the delegation met with leading universities and institutions for strategic collaborations.
In Xi'an, the delegation met with the Eclicktech Co., Ltd., the School of Management at Northwestern Polytechnical University, and the School of Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University. In Chengdu, they engaged with the Business School at Sichuan University, the School of Business Administration at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, the School of Economics and Management at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and the School of Economics and Management at Southwest Jiaotong University. In Shanghai, the delegation visited the Antai College at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Shanghai Data Exchange, and the School of Management at Fudan University. The visits yielded substantial outcomes, reaching consensus on collaborative initiatives, such as joint curriculum development, talent cultivation, and academic research.
During the visits, Dean Leng provided a detailed introduction to LU’s liberal arts education and LUFB’s digital development. He presented the current structure of the faculty, its research endeavours and course characteristics. Tailored cooperation proposals were presented to partner institutions, including undergraduate exchange, joint PhD training, educational and training programmes, and co-hosting academic forums. Additionally, Professor Wei Lai, Head of Department of Finance, gave presentations on our postgraduate programmes to attract high-quality students.
The 4-member delegation also included Ms. Ye Feiyang, Administrative Officer; and Ms. Peng Yuqing, Events Officer.

On the morning of February 27, the delegation visited the School of Management at Northwestern Polytechnical University. Ms Zhang Shuang (Party Secretary), Prof Jia Ming (Associate Dean), Prof Guo Yuntao (Associate Dean), Ms Shao Jing (Assistant to the Dean), and Ms Bai Jie (Student Employment Supervisor) attended the meeting.

On the afternoon of February 27, the delegation visited the School of Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University. On the afternoon of March 6, the delegation visited the Shanghai Data Exchange. This cross-regional educational collaboration is not only a key step for our faculty to deepen connections with Mainland China but also a vivid practice of resource synergy and innovation in higher education between the Greater Bay Area and the Mainland. By establishing an extensive cooperation network, the faculty will fully leverage Hong Kong's unique advantage of being "backed by the motherland and connected to the world," providing a model for nurturing business talents with both international competitiveness and national sentiment. Dean Leng stated that we will strive to implement the cooperation outcomes in the future, foster the wisdom exchange between Hong Kong and the Mainland and jointly start a new chapter in the higher education development.
