Distinguished Science Seminar

Scientists from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory announced on 11 February 2016 that they had detected gravitational waves from colliding black holes 1.3 billion years ago supporting an important prediction of Albert Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity. This discovery has received great attention from scientists, the media, and general public around the world. Prof. Tjonnie G. F. Li is the only scientist from Hong Kong involved in this research. We are delighted that Prof. Li will share his insights with the students of Lingnan on this remarkable research.
