The Global Brain Argument by Prof. Susan Schneider
17 May 2022

SIn this introductory lecture, Prof. Schneider argues that if several independently plausible scenarios obtain in the near future humans will become sensory transducers in one or more global superintelligence systems, and that understanding such systems is important from an ethical standpoint, from a regulatory standpoint, from the standpoint of understanding whether superintelligence requires consciousness, and from the standpoint of the metaphysics of mind.

You are welcome to join this online lecture organised by the Hong Kong Catastrophic Risk Centre on the 17th of May 2022 (Tuesday) from 8:30am to 10:00am (Hong Kong Standard Time, GMT +8).

Participation is free but registration is required.
