We are excited to share that the Master of Housing Policy and Management (MHPM) has been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). CIH accreditation is a prestigious recognition of the quality and standards of the MHPM programme.

The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) is a century-old professional institute headquartered in the UK, specializing in real estate management and operations. As a leading professional organization with over 17,000 members worldwide, CIH is dedicated to establishing global industry standards and creating platforms that connect housing, real estate and asset management sectors. Since receiving its Royal Charter in 1984, CIH has played a pivotal role in shaping housing management practices and policies across the globe. The establishment of its Asian Pacific Branch in 1966 (renamed from Hong Kong Branch in 2001) has extended its influence to serve approximately 3,400 members in the region.

The Chartered Membership (CIHCM) represents the highest professional qualification in housing management, signifying a member's expertise and commitment to the field. The journey to achieving this prestigious status follows a structured pathway: candidates typically begin as Student Members while pursuing CIH-accredited courses, then progress to Housing Practitioners (Cert. CIH/CIHM) to gain practical experience. To attain Chartered status, members must complete accredited courses and demonstrate a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, along with fulfilling Practical Experience Requirements (PER). This rigorous process ensures that Chartered Members possess both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for excellence in housing management. Members can also qualify through the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) licensing route, reflecting the professional recognition of the qualification within the industry.
