Six taught postgraduate (TPg) programmes of Lingnan have successfully obtained fellowships from the University Grants Committee’s (UGC) Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme for the 2021/22 academic year. This Fellowships Scheme aims to attract meritorious local students who wish to pursue interdisciplinary and in-depth postgraduate training in priority areas of strategic importance to Hong Kong.
Programmes being recognized and awarded by UGC fellowships include the Master of Social Sciences in Comparative Social Policy (International), and the Master of Social Sciences in Health and Social Services Management, both of which have received the previous-round UGC fellowships. The Master of Cities and Governance and the Master of Arts in Curating and Art History have also been awarded UGC fellowships for 2021/22, as have the Master of Arts in Chinese and the Master of Science in Work and Organisational Psychology programmes.
Lingnan’s research capabilities are augmented by some internationally acclaimed research centres, including the Institute of Policy Studies, the Centre for Humanities Research, and the Centre for Cinema and Creative Industries. The research carried out by these centres paves the way for further study and helps students to broaden their horizons while focusing on their chosen disciplines.
Lingnan is known for its commitment to cutting-edge research, and this is demonstrated by the LU Jockey Club Gerontechnology and Smart Ageing Project, which aims to advance gerontechnology and promote the development of smart ageing socialpreneurship.
