Translation Students Explore Hong Kong Museum of Art
On 21 February, 40 students from our MA Programme, led by Dr. Tang Kin Ling, visited the Hong Kong Museum of Art and participated in a guided tour to the special exhibition Cézanne and Renoir Looking at the World – Masterpieces from the Musée de l’Orangerie and the Musée d’Orsay. This is part of their learning activities in the course TRA515 Translating for the Creative Industries. During the visit, our students were introduced to the artistic philosophy and techniques of two of the most important painters in Western art history from a comparative perspective. They also gained a first-hand perception of the services and visiting experiences that a modern art museum would offer, and the role that it would play in the landscape of creative industries in the 21st Century.
