Preparatory Courses
- Preparatory Courses Requirement for Mainstream Programme:
The preparatory courses are designed to help applicants with non-business degrees to get ready for their formal admission to our programme.
An applicant who holds a bachelor’s degree in business or study Economics, Human Resource Management and Statistics at bachelor’s degree level are considered business-related degree holders.
The preparatory course list for HROM Mainstream Programme includes three courses:
- Human Resource Management
- Economics
- Statistics
Depending on applicants’ academic backgrounds, some applicants are required to take three preparatory courses while others might be required to take one or two course(s). Additional tuition fees^ will be charged for each preparatory course. All preparatory course(s) fees paid is non-refundable regardless of whether the applicants attend the course(s) or not (e.g. delay of a valid student visa to attend the registration). Applicants may also satisfy the preparatory course requirements by taking equivalent courses from other recognised undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The preparatory courses usually start about one month before the commencement of the Programme, which is around the first week of August.
^Applicant(s) who received the programme offer(s) (letter of admission) will be informed individually for the payment notice.
- Preparatory Courses Requirement for HRADT Concentration
The preparatory course list for HRADT Concentration includes:
Python
All applicants will be required to attend a Python preparatory course unless they receive special approval from the Programme Director. Such approval will be based on evidence of advanced coding experience or obtainment of relevant certifications.
Human Resource Management
In addition, a Human Resource Management preparatory course will also be provided for HRADT concentration students who do not have a background in Human Resources or related fields for optional study before programme commencement.
