Aims and Learning Outcomes

Aims

The MSc in Agentic AI Systems aims to:
• Provide students with a rigorous foundation in Artificial Intelligence, data mining, essential mathematics for AI, and OOP with Python, complemented by advanced competencies in AI system deployment and lifecycle management.
• Cultivate the ability to apply AI and data-related methodologies to practical challenges across diverse domains.
• Nurture critical thinking, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration to prepare graduates for addressing multifaceted and cross-sectoral challenges.
• Emphasize the importance of ethical and responsible AI, with particular attention to data governance, fairness, transparency, and social accountability.
• Integrate theoretical knowledge with experiential learning through hands-on projects, industry partnerships, and research-informed pedagogy to equip graduates for leadership roles in industry, government, and academia.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

PILO1) Apply artificial intelligence theories, models, and system-level concepts to analyse and solve complex, real-world problems across multiple domains.

PILO2) Design, implement, integrate, and evaluate artificial intelligence systems, with particular emphasis on Agentic AI systems, to address real-world problems by applying appropriate programming practices, machine learning techniques, agent-based system design, and system-level engineering considerations, including performance, scalability, usability, reliability, and deployment feasibility.

PILO3) Critically analyse, select, and apply contemporary artificial intelligence methods and tools in a responsible and context-appropriate manner, demonstrating awareness of data quality, model limitations, ethical considerations, and the trustworthiness of artificial intelligence-enabled solutions.

PILO4) Evaluate, customise, and optimise AI algorithms and system architectures to improve performance, robustness, efficiency, security, and trustworthiness in complex and data-intensive environments.

PILO5) Demonstrate professional, ethical, and legal responsibility by designing and managing artificial intelligence systems that adhere to principles of fairness, transparency, privacy, security, safety, and societal impact.

PILO6) Communicate and collaborate effectively as AI systems professionals, leading interdisciplinary teams, articulating technical solutions to diverse stakeholders, and delivering an AI system project that meets industry or research standards.
