Entrance Scholarships

The BSocSc (Hons) in Government and International Affairs Programme offers entrance scholarships to attract high-caliber students. All local year 1 students, including both JUPAS and non-JUPAS applicants, admitted to the BSocSc (Hons) in Government and International Affairs Programme will be qualified for the award of scholarships.

The scholarship is financially supported by the Department of Government and International Affairs.

Eligibility:

All year 1 local students, including both JUPAS and non-JUPAS applicants, admitted to the BSocSc (Hons) in Government and International Affairs Programme will be qualified for the award of scholarships.

Selection Criteria:

1.            Merit-based selection focusing on two key aspects:

·     Academic Achievements

·     Leadership Qualities (e.g., leadership roles or impactful contributions in extracurricular, community, or personal initiatives)

2.            The scholarship decisions will be made based on the information submitted by the applicants for admission.

3.            Awardee with the following situation will be disqualified from the entrance scholarship and should return the entire scholarship to the Department of Government and International Affairs:

·     withdrawn from the programme; or

·     suspension of study; or

·     transferred their major to another academic department; or

·     submitted false certificates or transcripts.

Award Amount:

1.        The amount is equal to the first-year local tuition fee. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.

2.        The scholarship payment will be released to the awardee in one instalment.

Number of Scholarships:  

Up to 5 scholarships are available per academic year.

In case of disputes, the Department reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the terms and allocation of the scholarship.
