Terms of Reference

Role

The role of an Advisory Board is to act as an interface between Government / industry / commerce / the community at large and the Core Curriculum.

Power and responsibilities

An Advisory Board shall normally meet once a year to help plan future developments and review the following aspects of work:

1. Academic quality of the Core Curriculum and its courses;
2. Relevance of the Core Curriculum as a foundational programme in training well-rounded, informed, and socially responsible individuals;
3. Adequacy of resources of the Office of the Core Curriculum and course offering units;
4. Development of activities to foster teaching and learning in the Core Curriculum;
5. Community contributions to further the objectives of the Core Curriculum of integrating and applying learning through facilities, equipment, scholarships, fellowships, etc; and
6. Systematic integration of the Core Curriculum as a complementary component of the Major Degree programmes at Lingnan.
