In the academic year 2025-26, the Office of Student Affairs organised a diverse range of workshops and activities for the Cultural Ambassadors. These activities provided meaningful opportunities to deepen their cultural understanding and broaden their perspectives through cultural tours and workshops, leadership training and cultural events hosted by the University. Below is a brief overview of some of the highlights from an exciting and rewarding year:
Briefing and Team-building Training Sessions
Briefing Session
The Cultural Ambassador Programme commenced with a comprehensive briefing session, bringing all ambassadors together to connect and exchange ideas. The session introduced the programme’s objectives and expectations, providing participants with a clear understanding of its structure and key components. As part of the session, a creative ice breaking activity invited students to explore the stories behind their names and share the cultural meanings they carry. Ambassadors were encouraged to share their cultural knowledge and perspectives while actively contributing to a diverse range of activities throughout the year.
Team-building Training
Following the briefing session, the ambassadors participated in a Team Building and Leadership Training session designed to further strengthen their leadership and collaboration skills. Through a series of interactive tasks and challenges, they had the opportunity to showcase their unique talents while working together towards shared goals. These experiential activities fostered stronger connections among the ambassadors and cultivated a spirit of camaraderie, mutual support, and teamwork.

Spring Festival x Heritage Salon 2026
Cultural Ambassadors played a vital role in promoting diversity on campus by actively participating in and supporting a variety of cultural events throughout the academic year. These included International Day 2025, Thanksgiving Celebrations 2025, and Spring Festival × Heritage Salon 2026. Demonstrating their strong commitment to the programme, the ambassadors took on diverse roles, such as emcees, performers, booth coordinators, and event helpers to ensure the success of each occasion.
Cultural tours and workshop
To broaden the ambassadors’ cultural understanding and enhance their local and global perspectives, a variety of cultural activities were arranged. These included a visit to the Kam Tin community and the world’s largest temporary bamboo altar, which is built once every decade, as well as workshops featuring an exchange on Japanese food culture and the making of masala sachets. Through these experiences, ambassadors gained valuable opportunities to explore the multicultural landscape and rich heritage of Hong Kong while engaging first hand with diverse cultural traditions.

Cultural March of Symphony
In addition to participating in various cultural events, Cultural Ambassadors were also given valuable opportunities to organise activities for their fellow students. As part of the “Cultural March of Symphony” series held in March 2026, ambassador groups designed and delivered five student led activities. Presented by the Cultural Ambassadors, the series featured a range of ILP bearing multicultural workshops and interactive experiences, providing students with meaningful opportunities to explore and appreciate the cultural diversity of Lingnan.

Closing Ceremony
In April 2026, a closing ceremony was held to recognise the ambassadors’ contributions and celebrate their achievements. The event featured a recap of memorable moments and accomplishments, followed by the presentation of certificates in appreciation of their dedication throughout the programme. The ceremony concluded with evening refreshments, offering the ambassadors a meaningful opportunity to reflect on their shared journey.

Visiting the village with a local artist helped me appreciate local heritage more deeply, but what touched me most was the moment when we shared about our lives and future goals. It felt very sincere and wholesome. It also made me reflect on how many cultural traditions, even if they look different, share similar values of community and belonging.”
