“What I love most about Lingnan University is the close relationship between students and professors. With a good teacher-student ratio, our professors are able to spend quality time with each of us, which optimises our learning experiences.

I genuinely enjoy having open conversations with my mentors, as it allows us to brainstorm ideas and make great progress on our project together. The trust and respect my mentors have shown me have significantly nurtured me to become a more independent and confident research student, and I truly appreciate that.

Our department has also made substantial efforts to strengthen students’ research backgrounds. They regularly host seminars to introduce us to the latest research topics and offer us chances to learn from and interact with various scholars.

These sessions have also inspired me to reflect on my presenting style, which I consider crucial for a compelling conference presentation. Thanks to the feedback from my mentors and the seminars offered by our department, I have often received encouraging feedback from the audience in different public presentations.
